Gorton's Review & Giveaway

*Disclaimer - I received the items mentioned below, free of charge, for review purposes. In no way did this alter my review. All of my opinions expressed in this review are one-hundred percent honest and true.*

As a mother and wife, I would love to make daily homemade meals,  but unfortunately that is not reality. Some days I become so involved in my daily chores and activities that I just don't have time to prepare homemade meals. It's days like this when Gorton's pays our dinner table a visit!

Gorton's offers a delicious variety of frozen seafood prepared in various ways, to offer something for any and every seafood lover. You will find they offer a tasty selection of shrimp, fish, and even clams. They go from your freezer, to your oven, to your table in no time!  Believe me, they definitely save you a lot of time in the kitchen.

Right now, Gorton's has an awesome giveaway going on! Enter now every day through February 3rd for a chance to win a $1,000 makeover grand prize! Entering only takes a minute of your time, believe me, I just entered myself!

I recently partnered with Gorton's and they were kind enough to send me a Gorton's themed kit to review. The kit included:

  • 2 Gorton's Oven Mitts
  • 5 Coupons good for free Gorton's Products
  • 1 Gorton Spatula
  • An assortment of Recipe Cards

Gorton's products are available at many stores including our local Walmart, so I headed to Walmart to stock up on some Gorton's products. That's another great thing about Gorton's brand is that it is available at many stores, so you never have to go searching to find their products. I ended up selecting quite a few products, and even have a couple left for future purchases. Of course, I had to pick up one of their grilled items, but my latest favorite is their new Simply Bake options.

Gorton's Simply Bake Salmon  is easy to prepare, yet delicious.  It requires no prep, which means no mess, and also means one happy lady! You simply place the sealed package into your oven and within no time, you have a delicious restaurant-quality meal. It contains two servings and each serving only contains 140 calories. The Roasted Garlic & Butter sauce combines with the rich Salmon flavor to make an ultimate taste bud explosion.

I also purchased a bag of their breaded fish sticks, which make an ideal meal for my kiddos. Since they are finger food, my one year old daughter can easily eat them. I make the Salmon for me and my husband and then the fish sticks for my kids. They are done in about seventeen minutes depending upon your oven. I tend to bake mine for a little longer because my kids like there's a bit crunchy (as you can tell in the picture).

Another one of my favorites is their grilled options. They are not only gluten free but also delicious. Their selection includes Haddock, Tilapia, Alaskan Pollock and Salmon. Each box contains two real flame-grilled fillets perfectly seasoned with real vegetables, herbs and spices. And best yet - they contain 100 calories or less! They provide a great source of protein and are perfect for all of you with weight loss resolutions for the new year, including me!

I plan on visiting Gorton's online to get some tasty recipe ideas to make using the additional Gorton's products. In case you didn't know, Gorton's offers a bunch of FREE recipes on their site. To check them out,  please visit their Recipes section. While your there, be sure to check out their entire line of products, and you may even want to print a coupon.

BUY IT: You can purchase Gorton's products in the frozen aisle of most all grocery stores.

LEARN MORE: To learn more, be sure to visit Gorton's online, and follow them on Facebook.
WIN IT: One of my lucky readers is going to receive a Gorton's prize pack which will include: 2 full-value product coupons, 1 pair of Gorton's branded oven mitts, a Gorton's spatula and Gorton's recipe cards.

I love their Simply Baked foods, especially the salmon. I use their shrimp to make PoBoys.

I am not a fish eater as a general rule (I do love seafood-lobster shrimp etc)--but have been known to eat mild fishes-like tilapia. I will NOT cook fish but have bought and eaten Gorton's!! They taste great!! I have yet to try their baked and will definitely pick up a box next time I am in my supermarket.

This is good to know! My hubby doesn't like fish of any kind and so I usually only eat it when I'm out to dinner. I will have to pick up some of these and have them for lunches!

I like the grilled products because they're healthier and they're gluten free so my daughter can eat them. I keep them around for an easy lunch or dinner that everyone can enjoy.

I lived in Washington state for the last nine years where salmon is king, so I want to try the recipe for their Salmon Frittata.

Yep, sometimes I can;t make a home made meal every night. I try though. It's nice to have something you can just throw in the oven and forget it for 20 mins, then have a perfect meal with out all the mess!

We aren't big fish eaters in my family but I know the kids would enjoy fish sticks. I used to eat them often as a child and never think about it for my children.

We try - stress, TRY - to get our son to eat what we eat, but sometimes we just break down with the nuggets or fish sticks. I like Gorton's best for him. I think I'd like to try that salmon for all of us!
