This Saturday I took my kids to the annual free pumpkin giveaway at Antelope Christian Center.
It started at 12:00 and we did not get there until 1:00 but there was still plenty of pumpkins left. In past years we have waited in long lines to get lunch or face painting but this year we did not have the time to wait. This is a perfect family event to attend and best of all it is totally free! This community event is hosted in Sacramento but i suggest you check to see if there are any local churches in your area that do this sort of event.
It is located about 20 minutes away from my house in Sacramento. Over the years, Antelope Christian Center has earned a reputation for it's creative outreaches to the community. Each year they host a free pumpkin giveaway to the community. This year they gave away over seven thousand pumpkins. Not only do they give each person a free pumpkin but they also offer free at no charge:
- Hay Rides
- Face Painting
- Jump Houses
- Hotdogs/ Water
- Crafts
- Games
- Prizes
