Mixbook

Mixbook

Mix up your photos and memories with a photo book by Mixbook!  Or,  you may want to create a lovely calendar,  or  magnificent cards,  whatever your creating will be sure to turn out wonderful!   They provide you with all of the tools and information you need for your creation to turn out the way you want and expect it.  Their line of stationary is extrodinary, including everything from fabulous wedding invitations to adorable birth announcements.  Mixbook  allows you to personalize your product the exactly how you want it.

Mixbook was kind enough to provide me with a 11" x 8.5" hardback photo book to review.  I must say designing it was the funnest part.  Unlike some other sites,  it can be somewhat of a hastle,  but not when your designing photo books on Mixbook!  You begin by selecting the size of your preference and if you would like it to be printed in a softcover or hardcover book.  I recommend the hard cover book because it will last longer,  especially if you plan on handing it down though the years.  You may own it now,  but eventually your child may own it and then pass it down to his or her child,  so please keep this in mind when your choosing hard cover or soft cover.

The soft cover may be a good idea if you want to order an extra one to hand out as a gift.  They make perfect gifts for Mother's Day,  Birthdays, Valentine's Day,  Anniversaries, and more.  A Mixbook will certainly touch the heart of the recipient and leave them with something to brag about for the rest of their life.  Not to mention they make great conversation pieces!  A great place to keep them is on your coffee table so it is always available for your guests to browse through.

Now lets back track back to creating your Mixbook.  After you select your photo book size,  which can be changed at any point,  you then have to decide upon a theme.  You will be able to browse by category including Baby,  Seasons,  Wedding,  General,  Holiday,  Travel,  Occasion,  Education,  Romance,  and Family.  If you would like to preview a theme you just click on which ever one you would like to see and it will give you an idea as to what you can do with it.  It was such a hard decision choosing which theme I wanted because I loved all of them!

I especially liked the idea or creating a Family Recipes photo book,  but did not have enough photos, so I knew I wouldn't be able to do that theme.  I also loved the Year at a Glance theme as it included everything that would take place in a year including birthdays,  holidays and more.  I think the baby books are perfect if you are pregnant or just had a baby.  What better way to capture your precious photos of your newborn then with an actual photo book!  After previewing many themes I finally decided upon the red plaid themed photo book.  I am a huge fan of plaid,  and I love red,  so Red Plaid it was!

The hardest part had to be uploading the pictures which took quite a while because I uploaded them one by one.  You can by pass this by importing your pictures from Facebook,  Flickr,  Photo Bucket,  Picasa,  Photo Bucket,  or Smugbug.  For instance I used my Facebook account to import my photos,  all I had to do was sign into my account and then select the photos I wanted to include in my photo book.  I uploaded plenty of pictures,  so I would have enough to choose from to include in my book.  After you upload all of your images it is time to get started putting your photo book together,  and that is the funnest part!

So, I should be a pro by now with all the photo books I have reviewed lately. I don't know if it is because I am becoming more experienced or if it's just Mixbook,  but creating my photo book was a breeze!  Once you select which theme you would like your pages are automatically filled in for you with plenty of fun stickers,  layouts,  and backgrounds.  After playing around with it for a while I noticed you can change the background,  layout,  and stickers,  to whichever one you like.  There are many different backgrounds to choose from including plaid,  solid colors,  striped,  checkered and many other fun prints.

Once you place your pictures on the page you can experiment with which layout looks the best with your photos.  You can even choose your very own picture as the background!  I had fun adding different stickers including sayings,  birds,  flowers,  and many other cute stickers. Once I reached page twenty I still had some photos that I wanted to include in the book so I added three additional pages for one dollar each. Once I completed my book I was able to edit it and then publish it.  Mixbook allows you to flip through the book while editing it so it comes out exactly how you want it.  Overall I was very impressed with Mixbook,  as it surpassed my expectations!

BUY IT:  You can purchase a 11" x 8.5" hardback photo book for $29.99 for 20 pages.  If you would like to add pages they cost one dollar each.

*Disclaimer - Mixbook provided me with a photo book and shipping for review purposes.  In no way did this alter my opinion of their products.  All of my opinions are one hundred percent honest and true.*
