Terracycle

TERRACYCLE.NET

One of the best things I like about blogging is finding interesting sites and products that I would have not known about if it weren't for my blog.  Today I have a special review/giveaway for you,  something that you may not even know exists! Let me introduce you to  Terracycle.net,   one of the fastest growing green companies in the world.  I bet your wondering what is so good about Terracycle,  well the question is what isn't good about Terracycle!

At terracycle.net they offer you affordable Eco friendly products that are made from non recyclable items and waste! They can recycle anything from old used flip flops,  to Yogurt containers,  and even candy bar wrappers!  Hey,  what's one mans trash is another man's treasure especially when your dealing with Terracycle.  They offer  by far some of the most unique products I have ever  come across. You can help out by sending in your trash or by purchasing products from Terracycle.

Basically what Terracycle does is transform trash into treasure,  really it couldn't be put any better!  Their goal is to eliminate the idea of waste by creating collection and solution systems for anything that would normally be sent to a landfill.  You will find the three steps,  in order to eliminate the idea of waste below.

STEP #1.   First you select your trash.

STEP #2.  Collect and Send.
STEP #3.  Solve and Benefit

Terracycle allows you to send in your trash in exchange for a 2 cent donation to your choice of school or charity for each qualified piece of waste that you send in.  Besides the cash payment option they have also added a number of other great ways to reward you and your teams for your collections.  Your points will either be redeemed for a charitable donation or you may select from a range of charity gifts including providing fresh drinking water,  providing meals or other helpful gifts that the world can benefit from.  To date Terracycle(with your help) has collected 2,007,013,927 units of waste and provided $2,839,836,66 in money for charity.  You can learn more about their Points Program Overview here.

While on their site you will find many great back to school items.  Why not send your child back to school in an Eco friendly style that none of the other students will be sporting!   I never thought I would be sending my son to school with a back pack made mainly of Capri-Sun juice pouches because I never had a clue it was even possible!  Capri Suns are some of my sons or should I say all of my sons favorite juice drink so when I saw the Capri Sun backpack I knew it was exactly what my seven year old son would want even though I'm sure he would love some of their other fun products just as well.

I received the Capri Sun Drink Pouch Backpack to review.  I totally had no clue what a Capri Sun back pack would look like.  Sure,  I saw it in the picture on the website,  but seeing it upclose in person is totally different!  The Capri Sun pouches are easy to identify and are the sewn together nicely.  Your student will sure stand out in this cool backpack that is nothing but ordinary!  I love that the adjustable straps on the back include recycled drink pouches too.  My son loves the bright blue color and the fact that it is made out of Capri Suns!  This backpack is certainly unique and I am sure that my son will be the only one with this backpack in his entire school.

The only thing that I disliked about this back pack is it's actual size,  it measures 13" T x 10" W x 5" D.  I think the Capri Sun Large Backpack would be a bit better fit for my seven year old son,  but I think the Capri Sun Drink Pouch Backpack is the perfect size for when my middle son starts preschool and kindergarten.  Besides both of these fun backpacks they also offer 10 other Capri Sun themed products.  Be sure to check out their other awesome school supplies including Lunch Boxes,  Sketch Pads,  Pencil Cases, Portfolio- Style Folder,  and many other fun and unique school products.  Besides school products they also offer everything from office items,  to toys,  and everything in between,  so be sure to check them out.  Going green couldn't get any funner than this!

*Disclaimer -  Terracyle generously let me select an item to review and sponsored my giveaway.  In no way did this alter my opinion of their products.  All of my opinions are one hundred percent honest and true.*

I really like the spiral note books, I can't decide if I like the skittles or the Lays potato chip one the best. My daughter says she wishes they had a Doritos backpack or messenger bag :)

I follow on GFC and I love all the products but I know my boys would get a kick out of the M & M's Peanut insulated tote and it would be great for picnic lunches at the park
