Nielsen-Massey Vanillas

Did you know vanilla can enhance a lot of recipes,  even everyday recipes such as french toast?  Did you also know that there is more than just regular vanilla on the market?  That's right at nielsenmassey.com you will find a wide variety of vanilla extract including everything from organic vanilla extract to Tahitian pure vanilla.  They also offer yummy extracts including coffee and pure chocolate,  just to name a couple.

I recently received three different flavors of vanilla extract including:
  • Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Mexican Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Tahitian Pure Vanilla Extract

I like to use the Mexican Pure Vanilla Extract in my hot chocolate. It's warm spicy flavors along with the cinnamon transform my hot chocolate into a mexican hot chocolate and it sure is yummy.

The Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract goes well in my french toast.  I add a little bit of cinnamon and a cap of Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract and wallah - I have some of the most delicious french toast I have ever tasted!  This particular flavor goes well in just about any recipe from barbeque sauce to sweet baked goods!

The Tahitian Pure Vanilla Extract is very fruity.  It goes well in fruity desserts.

Crème Brûlée French Toast

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
6 (about) slices Italian bread, 1/2-inch thick
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon Grand Marnier
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

Combine the butter, corn syrup and 1 cup brown sugar in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the butter is melted, stirring frequently. Pour over the bottom of a 1-quart baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange the bread slices over the brown sugar mixture so that the bread fits snugly in the dish.

Whisk the eggs, cream, salt, vanilla extract and Grand Marnier in a bowl. Pour evenly over the bread. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and chill for 8 hours or overnight.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Sprinkle 1/2 cup brown sugar over the top of the layers. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Serves 6
