Complete Book of Home Preserving

Growing up,  it was a yearly tradition for my mom and late grandmother to get together and do some serious canning.  I use to enjoy going traveling with them to orchards out of town and picking tomatoes and fruits to can.  Many years ago my grandmother passed away but my family keeps the tradition going.  We no longer have to visit orchards to pick fruit or vegetables because my family own their own fruit trees and grow their very own veggies.  It is great because we are able to preserve fruits and veggies at their ultimate freshness which locks in nutrition.

My mom makes simple things like canned salsa, canned apricot jelly, but until now we haven't really had that many canning recipes, that is until we received the Ball Canning Cookbook!  It is packed full of delicious canning recipes that are sure to make your mouth water.  I know it did mine anyways!  I love the fact that it is by Ball because Ball just happens to be my favorite brand of canning supplies.

The  Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving is basically an entire bible for home preserving.  It is clearly written making it very undertandable and easy to follow.  Inside this fabulous book you will find over 400 recipes along with very useful tips, guidelines, and methods.  While browsing the book you will come across delicious recipes such as Apricot Butter, Mango-Raspberry Jelly and many more!  Many of the recipes I came across do not require many ingredients and seem very simple to make.  I can't wait for the garden to be done so we can start trying out lots of the canning recipes!

BUY IT:  You can purchase a Ball Complete Book of Home Perserving from Amazon.com.

I need to get my hands on one of these books. Do you know I have no idea how to can. I know the basics, but that is about it.
