RL Stine DVD's

I have always watched scary movies, even when I was just a young girl.  I also loved reading scary books when I was a child,  so as you can imagine I really enjoyed the R.L. Stine series of books! If you are a child of the 90's then I know you have to remember the beloved children's series of haunting books that later on became a television series.  They were written by the one and only R. L. Stine who many people refer to as the "Stephen King" of children's books.

When I was recently given an opportunity to review two of the first two volumes of R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour series,  of course I couldn't wait!  Not only did I think it would make a great show for my son, but I was also anxious to watch a few episodes myself!  I received both Volume 1 and Volume 2 and each one includes five haunting episodes. I watched a few of the episodes with my son and they really brought me back to my childhood. They are scary for children without being too scary, which is perfect for my son because he gets too scared when watching regular scary movies.

The first two episodes on the first series were my favorite!  They were actually in two parts, part one and part two. The episodes were about a spoiled little girl who just had to have this certain special doll that was very expensive. The only problem was that the doll did not like her, and soon she would find out why!

R.L. STINE'S THE HAUNTING VOLUME 1 INCLUDES:

  1. Really You, Part 1
  2. Really You, Part 2
  3. The Dead Body
  4. A Creature Was Stirring
  5. Nightmare Inn

R. L. STINE'S THE HAUNTING VOLUME 2 INCLUDES:
  1.  The Red Dress
  2. Ghostly Stare
  3. The Walls
  4. Game Over
  5. Alien Candy
Each DVD also includes two bonus features: A Look Behind The Screams, and Original Promos.

RELEASE DATE: Both the volumes will be released on September 4, 2012.

BUY IT: Each DVD title is priced to own separately at the suggested retail price of $14.97.

*Disclaimer - I received the DVD's mentioned above, free of charge, for review purposes.  In no way did this alter my opinion of the DVD's.  All of my opinions expressed in this post are one hundred percent honest and true.*

Oh wow, I used to read these books all the time too when I was little! I loved them! I wish I could let my daughter watch them, but she always gets nightmares after things are hardly even scary, lol. Maybe when she's a little older!

My oldest loves the books and both of my boys love the movies. I didn't know they were releasing more movies, here I thought they were all made more that a decade ago.
