Spookley The Square Pumpkin

*Disclaimer - I received the DVD mentioned below, free of charge, for review purposes. In no way did this alter my review.  All of my opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent honest and true.*

Sometimes being different isn't always a bad thing Spookley teaches children in this fun Halloween themed DVD. Spookley is the only square pumpkin in the patch which prompts some of the round pumpkins in the patch to bully poor Spookley. This causes Spookley to believe he doesn't have what it takes to be pick of the patch. That is until a strong storm threatens to blow the round pumpkins toward the raging river. It's up to Spookley to save the day.

SPOOKLEY THE SQUARE PUMPKIN FEATURES 5 EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PICTURE BOOKS INCLUDING:

  1. The Legend of Spookley The Square Pumpkin
  2. The Legend of Beacon the Bright Little Firefly
  3. The Legend of JellyBean and the Unbreakable Egg
  4. The Legend of Lyla the Lovesick Ladybug
  5. The Legend of Mistletoe and the Christmas Kittens
In addition to the video picture books, you will also find  a full length Spookley Music CD!

This cute animated film is based on the book The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano.  The first thing that I noticed about this film is the adorable little square pumpkin cartoon figure.  The thing that I liked best about the DVD is that Spookley teaches that just because you are different, it doesn't mean that something is wrong with you. Sometimes, it makes you even more unique!  It teaches a valuable lesson about bullying which is currently a major issue in schools.  I know this first hand because my son's school has been having lots of issues with bullying lately.

The kids really enjoyed this cartoon.  It features cute characters, valuable lessons, and some great features. Not to mention, it really helped get them in the Halloween spirit.

Run Time: 45 Minutes
