The Southern Bite COOKBOOK

*Disclaimer - I received the book mentioned below, free of charge, for review purposes. In no way did this alter my review. All of my opinions expressed in this post are one-hundred percent honest and true.*

The Southern Bite Cookbook is packed full of over 150 irresistible dishes from four generations of family favorites. The cookbook was made based upon the thought that "any food, no matter how basic or inexpensive, made with love is the best food", which was taught by the authors mother.

I have to admit, Southern food is my weakness. As I flipped through the pages of the cookbook, I found so many recipes that I would like to try to make.  One in particular,  is Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan Praline Topping. The cookbook covers just about everything, so you can use it to make four course meals, perfect for entertaining or every day meals.

As you flip through the pages of the cookbook, you will find delicious recipes including salads, soups, casseroles, cakes, appetizers, and many more.  Some of the recipes include:

  • Okra and Tomatoes
  • My Secret Cheese Grits
  • Cornbread Salad
  • Slow Cooker White Beans
  • Red Velvet Brownies
  • And many more!

Although, the cookbook does not contain photos on every page, it is one of my favorites.  I honestly, want to make almost every recipe in this book.  The recipes seem simple yet delicious and most of them do not call for very many ingredients. I will definitely be implementing more Southern foods into our families suppers.

If there is one Southern food that I just don't get, it has to be grits. I am all for unique foods, but I just do not care for salty grits. I do however LOVE pretty much any other Southern comfort food.
