2011 Holiday Gift Guide Day 13 - Funrise Tonka Toy Giveaway

Still shoping for toys to give to your children for Christmas?  Then you have to check out www.funrise.com because they offer a fabulous selection of toys sure to put a smile on any childs face!  Back in July, I had the wonderful opportunity of working with Funrise on a fun review and giveaway and now were at it again with another fun review and giveaway for Funrise!  If you would like to read the past review,  you can check it out here.

For the last review I was sent a Gazillion Bubble Party,  but besides Gazillion they also offer a nice variety of other fun brands including: Tonka®, Disney©, Sesame Street©,  and many other well known brands.  This time I received a Tonka toy from their new line of Road Crew toys.

First of all I must say that Tonka is actually a staple brand in our family which may be due to the fact that we have three sons and the fact that Tonka is such a well trusted brand in our household. I love the fact that this line of toys mimic the vehicles and tools used by hard workers that help keep the roads of America moving along.

The Tonka Road Crew line of toys consists of:

• Roadway Rigs
• Haulers
• Tool Trucks

As soon as the toy arrived,  I surprised my kids with it and they waisted no time opening up the package!  You should of saw the look on their face when they saw the Tonka Roadway Rig Fire Rescue w/ "Road Closed" Sign toy.    The toy was larger than I expected it to be and very durable too,  which is important when you have a house full of boys because boys can be very rough on their toys.  This bright red and black truck pulls along a tow hitch with a LED warning sign which reads "Road Closed".  It's action signal technology really makes it seem realistic.  The sign trailor is totally removable if you should wish to do so.

The boys had a ton of fun playing with the toy,  the only problem was trying to get them to share it!  While the younger children played with it we had the older child cut out the additional road signs that are printed on the package.  It keeps them entertained while I am trying to fold laundry or do chores around the household so it's a winner in my book.

Any of the Tonka Road Crew toys from Funrise would make a perfect Christmas gift or birthday gift for just about any boy.  This toy is recommended for ages 3 years of age and older.

Tonka XT by Hasbro

Tonka XT

As a member of Bzz Agent,  I recently was given the lucky opportunity of reviewing a Tonka XT.  Now with three son's,  there is no way I could pass up that offer!  In fact,  my oldest son keeps begging me for a remote controlled car,  so it couldn't have came in at a better time.  Our sons are huge Tonka and Hasbro fans,  including my husband who grew up on Tonka Toys, so it made it even more exciting that is was from such a household loved brand.  I mean,  what boys don't like Tonka,  right!  Not to mention all the other great toys that Hasbro offers.

The Tonka XT Ricochet Tricksters R/C is not your average remote controlled car,  it is much more than that!  Remember playing with remote control cars as a child,  the kind that you just pushed the forward and backward button?  So do I,  but since our days they have advanced so much,  so much in fact that they can do awesome tricks with the trigger on the remote!  Press the  "trick trigger" and your child will be able to do one of three remarkable tricks including the "Rampage Flip",  the "Buzzsaw Spin",  and the "Zig-Zag Jolt".  Upside down means nothing when it comes to the Trickster,  as it can flip,  spin,  or jerk without interfering with it's operation.

It came time to put it to the test and let's just say it sure didn't disappoint.  I knew he was going to like it but I didn't expect him to enjoy it as much as he did.  He would play with it for 25 minutes,  charge it up for about twenty five minutes,  play with it again,  and then kept repeating it over and over.   Even my husband joined in on all the fun,  and I almost thought I was going to have to get him one too!  It took him a bit to get use to it,  but in no time he was a pro. With the help of his dad,  he has mastered all three exciting tricks!

He was asking for some type of track,  so we ended up making him a jump using the top of his toy box.  The controller requires five AAA batteries,  so be sure to stock up on some triple A batteries.  The Tonka XT by Hasbro would make a great gift for any boy,  or a fun way to keep your child entertained.  Please keep in mind that this particular toy is intended for indoor use,  so make sure you make a special spot for your child to play with his Tonka XT.

BUY IT:  You can purchase the Tonka XT for only $24.99 at Walmart,  Target, Toys "R" Us,  and K-Mart (in the remote control aisle).
