Grace's Sweet Life Recipe Book

When I think of Italian,  I usually think of lots of  yummy pastas dishes,  but I never really gave much thought into Italian desserts until being introduced to Grace's Sweet Life!  I have a huge sweet tooth when it comes to anything sweet,  so I jumped at the chance to review this marvelous dessert recipe book.  Especially when I found out that this book was actually published by a fellow blogger.  I think it's fabulous that it started out as a blog and evolved into an amazing recipe book!

I was very intrigued by the thought of a whole recipe filled with Italian dessert recipes and couldn't wait to have a look at the book.  As soon as it arrived I pulled it out and began flipping through the pages, 200 pages to be exact!  The first thing I noticed was that each recipe is written in Italian and includes the English translation below to give it an authentic Italian flavor to it.  After checking out the basics, you will be introduced to Cakes and Cheesecakes which all look rather delicious.  The mini dessert section is next and I have to say they would make perfect desserts for dinner parties or small parties.

The beautiful photos are what really stand out in the book.  I could have used more photos, as there are 200 pages yet only 50 photos, but the photos that are included make the desserts look so fancy.  The recipes look very elegant, perfect for days when you want to impress guests, or maybe even yourself!  Plus you can offer them something unique that they may have never experienced before.

Grace's Sweet Life Recipe Book is split into 7 chapters:

  1. Cakes and Cheesecakes
  2. Mini Desserts
  3. Cookies and Confections
  4. Pies and Tarts
  5. Pastries and Fried Desserts
  6. Creams, Custards, Mousses, and Souffles
  7. Frozen and Fruit Desserts
As I flipped through the pages in the recipe book I found many interesting desserts.  I must say I love salami,  but I think I just may love the Chocolate Salami even more!  Oh, and I could totally see myself making the Almond and Hazelnut Nougat to give to family as gifts during the holidays.  Oh and the Chocolate Crousants look to die for!  I could go on and on about all the yummy stuff in this book,  but I wouldn't want to reveal everything in the book!

My Husband is Italian and his mom makes him his childhood desserts. I need to look at this book and see all the recipes. I might need it one day when his mom doesn't want to bake any longer.
