An Epic Party

In celebration of the soon to be released movie, EPIC, I was one of the lucky bloggers selected to host an Epic themed party!  You can read all about my pre-party decorations and ideas HERE. If you read my first post, I am sure you are excited to find out how it went.  And to be honest, it was totally epic!

The day of the party was both exciting and crazy. I had so much to do to set up for the party, and I was sure busy. Luckily, a friend of mine helped me out with the party.  Before we knew it, my living room were full of plenty of kiddos,  and parents too.  I set the table up with a BBQ theme since the party had a camping themed, I figured it would fit perfectly with the theme. I made the kids plates, while the adults served themselves to a nicely prepared potato bar.  The children enjoyed cresent covered sausages with a variety of dipping options, while the adults enjoyed a full potato bar.

The Children's Food including a trio of yummy sauces.

The Adult's Potato Bar was loaded with options.

After all the guests had a full belly, it was time to watch Epic!  I received a code to watch the movie on DigitalHD to view the movie with all the children.  The kids laid on Sleeping bags, and I even set up a mini tent to help set the "CampOut" mood.  The children had a blast watching the movie.  Once it was over, it was favor bag time!

Each child received an Epic Favor Bag. Inside each Epic themed tote bag was: a flashlight w/batteries, a grow kit (basil), Magnifying Glass, oversized mug with hot cocoa mix, bug viewer, and activity sheets.

We headed outside for a fun scavenger hunt using some of the items in the favor bags.  The kids were able to open up their favor bags and begin doing some exploring.  Each item that they found/caught was worth a certain amount of points and in the end the child with the most points won a prize.  The kids had so much fun exploring the outdoors, while playing with all their new epic themed goodies.

Before the party ended, the children gathered for a fun water balloon fight.

A friend of mine made cake pops so that each child would go home with a special treat.

Don't forget to pick up EPIC on August 20th, 2013!
