By now you may have heard of them, or even saw Soda Stream in stores. If so, I bet your wondering if they actually work. Well, I recently had a chance to try a new Soda Stream Soda Maker, and I am here to tell you they do work, very well in fact!  As more and more people find out about them, I see them ending up on more and more peoples wish lists. I have seen allot of talk about them on Facebook, as well. As awareness about the product grows, so does the sales, and I know first hand why! Soda Stream is a must have in any household!

Soda Stream was kind enough to provide me with a New Source machine to review. When the box arrived I was excited to not only find a Source Machine Soda Kit, but also a lovely variety of full size syrup flavors. In no time at all my entire family was putting it to good use! My husband and I enjoy drinking soda, while my children like fruit flavored drinks such as Country Time and Kool-Aid. Luckily, SodaStream offers all types of flavors, so your sure to find one that fits your tastes. Although, SodaStream offers over 60 flavors of syrups, store variety differ, so be sure to shop around for your favorite flavors.

I actually owned a Soda Maker in the past, but my mom ended up taking it over. There's no way I am letting anyone(except for my husband and children, of course) near my new Source Machine! My kids were very excited when they learned they would be able to help make their own special beverages using the Soda Maker. Because, we had previously used a SodaStream machine, we already knew how much fun and convenient it was to use. We also knew, it produces some yummy results! 

The Source Metal Starter Kit includes:

• Source Soda Maker
• 1 BPA -free reusable carbonating bottle with stainless steel base and cup
• Reusable carbonator to fizz up to 60L of soda
• Sodamix variety 6 pack

Using the SodaStream Source Machine is super easy. First, start out by refrigerating tap water until it is nice and cold.  You will then need to pour it into the one liter bottle (provided in the kit),  and place it into the machine.  After that, you press the button 2-3 times,  depending upon how much carbonation you prefer. The LED display indicates three levels of fizziness for exact carbonation with every use. Then you simply take the bottle off the machine,  add the syrup, and put the lid on the bottle and shake.  Afterward,allow it to settle for about ten minutes before drinking it. It will take you a few times before you get the full hang of it, and within that time you will be able to figure out which amounts work best for you. 

The SodaStream saves our family a lot of money, not to mention gas and time too. To be exact, each serving only costs twenty-five cents! That includes soda, energy drinks, sparkling water, and diet sodas too. Basically, the only thing you ever have to replace is the CO2, which you can find at Target for about $15. The flavors are inexpensive and can be found at stores such as Walmart. My favorite flavor is Cranberry Raspberry, my husbands is Cola, and my childrens is Kool-Aid Fruit Punch. 

Compared to the older model I like this one much better. Simply because the bottles do not have to be screwed into the unit. The new snap-lock bottle mechanism makes it even more convenient to use. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the entire top surface is now responsive to touch. I can't wait to see what they come out with in 2014! 

The Source Machine now sits pretty on my kitchen counter. We use it on a daily basis,  so we don't have to worry about storing it. Plus, the sleek innovation design makes it a beautiful addition to my kitchen.  And guess what...my husband no longer has to make trips to the store just to purchase soda, because were able to make it in our own home, thanks to SodaStream! 

The SodaStream Source Machine would make an excellent gift for just about anyone. I have seen it on many peoples holiday wish list and I can definitely say it's worth the purchase.
