Old fashioned Country Style Barbecue **CLOSED**

This year just like every year we barbecued for this fourth of July,  but unlike every other year this year we went with an old fashioned style theme(thanks to Retro Planet).  From the Gingham print tablecloth and napkin set,  down to the gingham printed paper plates,  everything fit perfectly with the theme.   We used a Picnic Table Condiment Set as the centerpiece,  which I must say made a perfect centerpiece.  Surrounding the Condiment Set was BBQ Grill Salt and Pepper Shakers.   After that,  we topped it off with a vase of roses,  and a matching kitchen towel that hung in the kitchen.

The entire theme is based on the Gingham print along with the BBQ theme,  combine the two and what do you have?  You have a Old Fashioned Country Style BBQ!  In case you do not know "gingham" is actually a yarn-dyed cotton fabric that is woven in stripes,  plaid,  checks,  and solid colors.   Thanks to Retro Planet for providing me with everything that we needed to set a perfect Old Fashioned Country Style decorated table, and helping us make our BBQ a hit.   Below I will let you in on a little bit of information about each product I was sent to review. 

Rooster Square Tablecloth Napkin Set - This tablecloth napkin set  really set the mood for the "Old Fashioned Country Style BBQ" theme. The Rooster Square Tablecloth napkin Set  will surly bring you back to the 1950's.  It features a golden yellow colored rooster with a big red tail on each napkin along with a gingham print boarder.  This set comes with one tablecloth,  4 napkins,  and is made out of 100 percent cotton.  The tablecloth measures 52 square inches,  which fit perfectly on my average sized round dining room table.  Each square napkin measures 14 square inches. 

The thing that I like best about the tablecloth is it's high quality.  Retro Planet also offers some really great disposable tablecloths too,  but paying a little extra for one of their reusable tablecloths is definitely worth it!  I will be able to reuse this tablecloth for many  years to come,  unlike a disposable tablecloth that you throw away and never use again.  This tablecloth is very homey,  and reminds me so much of my mom,  as she always loved the gingham print.  You can purchase a Rooster Square Tablecloth Napkin Set on retro planet for $26.99.  Be sure to check out their other great styles too including many other fun styles printed on gingham prints. 

BBQ Grill Salt and Pepper Shakers - I was actually surprised when I received the salt and pepper shakers.  I had originally pictured them as separate grill shakers,  but they are actually one grill in two pieces.  The lid of the grill,  and then the actual grill detailed with two hotdog links,  and a hamburger patty.  I think they are even cuter in person than in the picture on the site.  The BBQ Grill Salt and Pepper Shakers definitely  made a great conversation piece at our fourth of July Old Fashioned Country Style BBQ.

 I think they are really what tied in the BBQ portion of the theme.  They are made out of clay,  handcrafted,  and hand painted to look exactly like a real barbecue grill.  This set of shakers is microwave and dishwasher safe.  They make a perfect addition to any barbecue and add a little bit of decoration to your table.  Besides this set,  you may also want to check out their Barbecue Salt and Pepper Shakers.  You can purchase the BBQ Grill Salt and Pepper Shakers set on Retro Planet,  for only $17.99. 



White Ceramic Vase 5.25 Inch - this vase matched perfectly with the checkered red and white gingham print.  All the roses in my rose garden were wilted,  so I filled the vase with fake red roses.  This white ceramic vase measures 5.25 inches,  making it perfect for single roses,  or small flower bouquets.  It is extremely affordable at only $3.99,  and makes a perfect addition to any table.  It may be somewhat plain,  but it is definitely very sophisticated and tasteful. 

The White Ceramic Vase is light yet sturdy,  and can be placed on top of your table,  counter,  shelf,  or anywhere else you may want to display your beautiful flowers in.  Nicely arranged flowers set a very warm mood in our house and lift all of our spirits.  The white colored vase matches with any and everything , which makes me like it even more!  Retro Planet also offers some other great vases in various styles,  sizes,  and colors.  The 6.25 inch white ceramic vase is very similar to the one I reviewed,  but a different size and style,  with the same low price.

Gingham Checkered 9 inch Plates - They come in a package of eight disposable plates.  Each plate is 9 inches making them big enough to hold all of your yummy barbecue food items.  I placed a barbecued hotdog,  chicken drumstick,  baked beans,  and potato salad on my plate,  and it all fit perfectly. The Gingham white and red checkered print matched perfectly with the Gingham printed tablecloth and napkin set.  Retro Planet also offers paper cups and napkin gingham printed products that completely match the plates. 



Classic Rooster Kitchen Towel - This kitchen towel features a classic red rooster surrounded in a red boarder.  It is made from 100 percent cotton,  and makes an ideal addition to any kitchen.  The classic red rooster kitchen towel measures 17 x 24 inches,  making it the perfect size.  This particular style kitchen  towel is also available in Blue,  Green and Yellow.  It looks so nice hanging in my kitchen and is ready to use any time I may need it.

This towel really gives my kitchen an overall country feeling.  I have used my towel for everything from wiping spills to drying the dishes.  At first I didn't want to use it because it is so cute!  This kitchen towel coordinates perfectly with the table setting.  You can purchase this towel on Retro Planet for only $4.99.  Plus,  if you buy more you save more,  so if you purchase two or more, they will only cost you $4.49.
