Epic Party PrePost

In anticipation of the August 20 release of the movie Epic, we are hosting an Epic themed party.  We were overwhelmed with excitement when our party box arrived, as my three year old excitedly drag the box inside our house.  Of course the kids couldn't wait to open it up, so I let them have at it!  We were surprised to find generous Epic branded tote bags filled with plenty of fun Epic themed favors. In addition to the favor bags, we also received a $50 gift card to purchase food, decorations, and party essentials for our Epic party!

Each Woven Favor Tote Bag is filled with:

  • Epic branded Flash Light and Batteries
  • Magnifying Glass
  • Bug Viewer w/fake spider inside
  • 1 Grow Kit
  • Hot Cocoa Mug/Hot Cocoa
  • Epic Activity Sheets

We will be hosting our party later on today, so I went shopping over the weekend to purchase some food for the party. We decided to serve finger foods for the kids while serving more adult themed food for the grown-ups attending the party. Our menu is below.

Kids Menu -
Small Weiners wrapped in Crescent Rolls served with a variety of three different dipping sauces.
Cake Pops - Decorated with a red/white bbq style theme(for camping)
Beverage - Fruit Punch mixed with Sprite

Adult Menu -
A Full service Potato Bar with Lumpy Red Skinned Potatoes, and a variety of toppings including:
Chives, Yellow Onions, Tomatoes, Cilantro, Bacon Bits, Purple Onions, Black Olives, Sauteed Mushrooms, and Sour Cream.

Because we are having a Epic themed campout party I decided a country bbq might make a nice theme, so I am planning on decoration the serving table as a Country BBQ.  While we watch the movie, we are going to have a small tent set up and plenty of sleeping bags and pillows spread out on the floor, so all the children can enjoy the movie in comfort, and also to help set the theme. I purchased some water balloons, so the kids can have some water fun since it's spose to be quite hot tomorrow.  I have also planned an insect hunt, which I am sure my boys will especially enjoy.

All the guests have been invited and we are all looking forward to the Epic party today!  Look forward to a post coming soon, that covers our entire Epic party.
