Disney On Ice Passport To Adventure

*Disclaimer - I received free tickets, in exchange for this review. In no way did this alter my review. All of my opinions expressed in this post are one hundred percent honest and true.*

Tonight was the opening night for DISNEY ON ICE PASSPORT TO ADVENTURE performance and we were lucky enough to attend!

There's certain memories that stand out to me as a child. One of those being attending Disney On Ice,  so when I recently received an opportunity to attend Disney On Ice with my children, I of course accepted. I was anxious to share all of the excitement, memories, and fun with my children. Unfortunately, one of my son's woke up sick today, but luckily grandma was willing to go in his place. So me, my son, my mom, and my little sister attended the performance. Which was kind of special, because we all share such fond memories of attending Disney on Ice when we were growing up.

As soon as we arrived, we picked up our tickets, and then headed through a security check, which was actually quite fast. We arrived ahead of time so we could purchase plenty of goodies from the concession stands. Two slices of pizza, two refreshments, some fries, and a snow cone later, we were ready to get seated. Finding our seats were extremely easy because all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were seated and ready for the show in no time at all. As you can see from the photo pictured above, my son and I were enjoying our goodies while waiting for the show to begin. And below, my mom and sister, anxiously waited for the show to begin.

Once the lights came on and the spotlight was up we knew the fun was about to begin. Before the actual show started a few of the ice skaters entertained the crowd by throwing a few toys in the air. It was fun to see them go flying into the crowd and back to the ice skaters.

The performance was based around some of our favorite Disney characters including Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. They set off on an adventure to visit some fun Disney characters. Their were four different acts in all.

Lion King was the first act and was sure to get everyone excited. The fact that they even included a more grown version of the characters really helped tell the story and make it more realistic. It soon became clear just how much fun we were in store for.

Next, it was time for the second act which included the one and only, The Little Mermaid. This just so happens to be one of my all time favorite Disney movies. Some of the costumes were very unique, while others were very familiar. The special effects during this act featured cascading bubbles from above. Oh, and I can't forget to include my favorite effects - Ursula and the pyro techniques that destroyed her as she began to deflate right in front of our very own eyes!

The third act featured Lilo & Stitch. Along with Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy we traveled to the tropical paradise of Hawaii. Along our vacation we learned the true meaning of "Ohana". After this act was over, it was intermission time for all the guests. This gives you plenty of time to visit the concession stand or take a quick potty break. I was pleased to meet with the PR rep during the concession, and she was kind enough to provide me with a program.

Forth,  but not least was the one and only Peter Pan!  A boy a row above us was dressed in a Peter Pan costume, and I spotted many little girls in cute costumes. The entire atmosphere was nothing but fun, including Peter Pans act. It was absolutely amazing to see Peter Pan, Wendy, and her brothers flying and doing flips in the air. I just adored Tinkerbells costume, which was almost as magical as her magic pixie dust (Glitter) that she threw in the air.

The ice skaters were amazing, as was the entire performance. During the acts, the performers would interact with the audience by skating to certain areas and then waving and pointing at the audience. During The Little Mermaid act, the children were encouraged to clap along, allowing the audience to interact with them as well. We all had a blast, and of course my son can't wait till the next show. I sure hope next time my other son is not sick, so that he can experience all of the fun too.

It's not too late to purchase tickets to attend Disney On Ice. For all of you who live in Sacramento, be sure to purchase your tickets now. Disney On Ice will be performing at the Sleep Train Arena today through Sunday the 13th.  Please check out my past post to learn more about purchasing tickets. You can view it HERE
