Lottie Dottie Do, I have the perfect doll for you!!!
Meet Lottie, a UK based doll line designed to break the typical stereotypes between boys and girls. The British company, Arklu, realizes that the way boys and girls are spose to act, think, and behave starts with their toys and that is why they created Lottie dolls to prove to children that they can be anything, no matter what gender they are. Think intelligent and strong instead of popular and pretty. Lottie dolls help prove women can do anything men can.
Lottie dolls are recommended for girls ages 3 and up, which is a great age to teach them about the values of being a girl. Each doll is actually modeled on the dimensions of a nine year old girl, so they portray more of a realistic model than other dolls do. The new dolls for 2013 symbolize the power of women. In addition to the four dolls, they also offer various outfits and accessories for the dolls. Check out the four savvy dolls below.
Butterfly Protector Lottie - This girl is all about nature and science. She truly represents an intelligent girl. She's dressed in a butterfly theme outfit, and ready to do some outdoor exploring!
Kawaii Karate Lottie - Who says karate is for boys! Kawaii Karate sure doesn't! She sports a fiesty karate suit and proves that women can take unconventional carreer paths if they so choose to do so!
Pirate Queen Lottie - Well, perhaps not a career choice but this doll sure does prove that women can be anything! She sports a big pirate hat, boots, striped shirt, and a vest.
Robot Girl Lotty - She definitely proves you don't have to be the princess type or popular! You can just be you! She sports a pair of dark glasses, a baseball cap, jeans, and a hoodie. She's just your gerneral science fair kind of gal!
I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to select both a doll and an accessory kit. I chose Robot Girl Lotty and Busy Lizzie the Robot Accessory Set. There was just something about her relaxed attire and her cute glasses that really made her look relaxed in her own skin, and that is an important value for my daughter to learn. Robot Girly Lotty arrived in a cute little box, complete with a handle and award tag. As I flipped it over, I noticed there is even a spot on the back to write who the doll belongs to.
Lotties clothes feature velcro fasteners, so your Lottie doll is easy to dress and undress. Her body is jointed so she can move her head to the side, or even do the splits! Because she is 7.5 inches tall, she is easy for small hands to grasp and carry around with them. Her hair is long and soft, so it can easily be played with. One of the things I like best about Lotty is that she does not wear makeup, jewelry, or high heels, she's just simply herself! Beauty comes from within and it's very important that my daughter learns just that. Thanks to Lottie for helping teach her in a fun yet unique way.
The Robot Girl Lotty and Busy Lizzie the Robot Accessory Kit includes:
- Lizzy The Robot
- Extra Arms
- Frying Pan
The arms and head pieces are totally interchangable making Lizze the Robot a ton of fun! Plus, Lizzy the Robot isn't your ordinary robot. The robots shoes can actually be shared with those of the robot girl. This cool set was actually inspired by an eight year old girls science fair project. This accessory kit makes the perfect accessory for Robot Girl.
