Enstrom's Toffee

Enstrom's all began three generations ago when Chef Enstrom perfected the art of blending the finest natural ingredients to make tasty batches of of almond toffee as gifts for family and friends.  Ever since then the company has continued to grow and gain popularity as it has been passed down generation to generation.  To this day Enstrom toffee is still made using the same exact recipe that is almost 80 years old now. Chet's Granddaughter,  Jamee and her husband,  Doug Simmons currently own and operate the company and have been since 1993.  Jet's Grandson Rick,  and his wife Linda,  operate the Denver area retail stores,  as the third generation continues the famous family owned and operated business. 

I have reviewed Enstrom's Toffee in the past,  so I already knew what to look forward.  Some of the best tasting toffee that I have ever tasted in my life.  I think what makes it so good is the top of the toffee.  It is covered in chocolate and then dusted with a powdery like sprinkling.  The top consists of bits of almonds and delicious flaky buttery toffee. The crunchy  toffee is very high quality and contains extremely fresh.  I am typically not very fond of toffee,  but I am definitely very fond of Enstrom's brand toffee!

Sweet Treats Week- Review#6/Enstrom's Almond Toffee.
So I am not a huge fan of Toffee,  but I do usually like things spruced up.  That's exactly what Enstrom's Almond Toffee is...it's toffee spruced up with Almonds and Chocolate,  to make some of the best Toffee,  that you will ever taste!  Besides their world famous Almond Toffee,  they also offer Truffle Assortments,  Turtles, and Mint Meltaways.   They even have some Sugar Free  options.  If you are sending one of their items as a gift,  rest assured they have plenty of options including Gift Boxes,  Gift Baskets,  and Custom Message Sleeves.  

Enstrom's carefully crafts each batch to ensure the up most quality and freshness.   If you are located in Colorado,   they have several retail stores open,  where you can find all of their fabulous products.  Enstrom's originally started as a family owned business,  that sold ice cream in 1929.  Chet(the owner) loved making candy,  and specialized in English Toffee.  In 1965 he finally opened up a store,  and business soon boomed.  Today,  each batch is handmade in their Grand Junction Company. 

Enstrom's Almond Toffee  sent me a one pound box of their famous Milk Chocolate Almond Toffee to possibly review.  When it arrived it was wrapped in a pretty pearl white box.  The toffee arrived in perfect condition,  but contained a label on it that said to refrigerate,  so to the fridge it went!  After it had been in their long enough to cool down I took it out and immediately opened it up.  This isn't you average every day toffee,  this is much more!  The top contained a Almond  topping that was crushed  so finely,  it was almost like a powdery topping.  They also contained Almonds  throughout the Toffee,  but not too much.

As I bit into the toffee I noticed how extremely soft it is.  Usually Toffee is so hard and crunchy,  but Enstrom's Toffee is soft , and won't break your teeth.  Enstrom's Almond Toffee is all natural made with California Almonds,  Sweet Butter Cream,  and Pure Cane Sugar and then covered in a layer of Chocolate,  and then sprinkled with crushed Almonds.  They come in four different sizes:  1 LB.,  2 LB,  3LB,  and 5 LB ranging in price from $19.95 - $79.95.  They would make a great gift for anyone that loves toffee,  or even people that are not that fond of toffee,  as this toffee tastes unlike any other toffee you have ever tried! 

Enstrom's Toffee is by far the best Toffee that I have ever tried before!  I was thinking it would come in a large piece that you would have to cut into smaller pieces,  but I was happily surprised when I saw they come in bark size pieces.  Each one pound box serves approximately 10 people, and contains two layers of Toffee.  To ensure your toffee stays fresh and does not melt,  it is best to store it in your freezer or refrigerator.  You may store it for 4 to 6 months in your freezer,  or 2 to three weeks in your refrigerator.  I definitely give Enstrom's Almond Toffee two thumbs of approval!

Gourmet Orchards was kind enough to let me select some of their products to review.  I LOVE nuts so it was a hard decision for me to choose just three,  as they have so many different types of nuts that look delicious!  They offer 5 different types of nuts including: Peanuts,  Pistachios,  Walnuts,  Almonds and Cashews.  I ended up choosing :  Chocolate Toffee Peanuts,  Dark Chocolate Almonds,  and Honey Roasted Peanuts.  Each of their bags of nuts weigh one pound and come in a clear package with a label on it.  They were packaged in tan crinkled paper and fit perfectly in the small cardboard box. 

Their Honey Roasted Peanuts looked like the average roasted peanut but sure didn't taste average!  Gourmet Orchards slow roasts their peanuts in their special honey glaze leaving them with a perfect taste.  They are very reasonably priced at $3.99 for one pound of Gourmet Honey Roasted Peanuts.  They make a perfect addition to  snack trays for parties and get togethers or would even taste great used in recipes!  The honey glaze is what really makes these roasted peanuts.

My favorite was the Dark Chocolate Almonds!  You will especially like them if you are a fan of Dark Chocolate and Almonds.  Gourmet Orchards coats the Candied Almonds in the most finest Dark Chocolate  available.  The Dark Chocolate coating was very soft and almost melted in my mouth.  These Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds come in a one pound bag and cost $7.99.  Pair them with another bag or two of Gourmet Orchard Nuts and you have a perfect gift for someone.  

Last but not least i tried their Chocolate Toffee Peanuts.  I chose to review them because the thought of peanuts covered in Toffee with Chocolate sounded out of this world!  The texture of the Chocolate Toffee Peanuts was totally different than the other two that i reviewed.   The Chocolate Toffee Peanuts had an unexpected crunch to them.  One bite of these and you will definitely taste the toffee that is hiding underneath the Chocolate. If you are a fan of Toffee and Peanuts then these are definitely for you!      

My kids had a fun time playing with the nuts...yes they played with them!  They made funny faces out of their nuts and when they were done they got to eat their creations.  Luckily my children do not have any allergies to nuts!
