Sweet as dessert and yummy as a strawberry...it's Strawberry Shortcake!

If you were a child of the 80's, then I am sure you all remember the classic Strawberry Shortcake doll. Growing up, Strawberry Shortcake was one of my most fondest toys and now that im older just the thought of Strawberry Shortcake bring up many fond memories. You may or may not know this, but originally Strawberry Shortcake came out in the 1970's when she was introduced by American Greetings as an design on a greeting card. Later on down the line other adorable characters were introduced, each with it's very own unique personality and design. If you remember Strawberry Shortcake then you probably remember that each character had their very own dessert themed name, matching clothing, along with matching pets.
Oh, and how could I forget to mention each unique doll had scented hair to match it's fruit or dessert theme. It wasn't until the 1980's that Strawberry Shortcakes popularity grew and expanded into other awesome products including sticker albums, clothing, and even a video game! Eventually the fad died down, as it does with any other toy fad, but it never died in my heart. So you can imagine how excited I was to receive a copy of Strawberry Shortcake Bright Lights Big Dreams DVD.
The first thing that really stood out to me about the Strawberry Shortcake DVD is that Strawberry Shortcake received what I like to call a "makeover". Her look is still very innocent, but looks much more modern now. Because this DVD is better suited for a girl audience I decided to sit down with my neices to watch it. It's kinda neat that I can share the same character of my childhood with my nieces. Anyways, the DVD itself was packed full of innocent fun as Strawberry Shortcake and her pals had fun twirling and spinning in the annual dance off.
It is not long until the struggle to win makes them realize that the key to winning is simpily having fun with your friends. My nieces has such a good time watching the movie and even was inspired to do a few twirls of their own. I definitely recommend purchasing this DVD as a Christmas gift for a young girl, or to add to your DVD collection.

My nieces would love this dvd! I do remember starwberry shortcake as a kid, I have done forgot but my favorite was the blueberry one, im getting old. Thanks, I might have to invest in this dvd for christams!
