It didn't surprise me that he chose the all white ones because he has been in need of a new pair of white shoes for quite some time now.  He usually wears a size 10 1/2 but they do not come in half sizes so he ordered a size 10 and luckily they fit him perfectly.  Because they are white he is able to wear them with basically anything in his closet.  And of course he receives plenty of compliments every where he wears them to, including the grocery store.

I always enjoy shopping on costume sites because there are always so many fun products to look at.  I browsed around their site for a while until I came across their costume shoes for women, which is where I found the Women's Iridescence Peacock Platformed High Heel Shoes.  The stunning  peacock feathers caught my eye along with the  beautiful sparkles.  The heels are available in sizes 6-10 so I ordered an eight and put in my order.

When the shoes arrived they were perfectly placed inside a cardboard shoe box that was covered in pink and black(my favorite color combo).  Each heel was wrapped in tissue paper and then placed in a small plastic bag.  As I unwrapped them I was excited to see that they looked even better than they did pictured on the website. 

The Women's Irridescence Peacock Platform High Heeled Shoes are black covered in beautiful silver sparkles and feature a bow along with two breathtaking peacock feathers on each shoe.  The unique thing about them is that the bow and feathers are completely removable so you can wear them with a costume or remove the bow and feathers to wear them out on a date night.

2011 Holiday Gift Guide Day 21 - Heelys

I am sure you have all seen kids in grocery stores and around town rolling around on their Heelys shoes.  You know the ones with the built in wheels,  which allow them to turn their shoes into skates,  how cool is that right!  But did you know they also make Heelys for adults!     

A while back my son was lucky enough to receive an opportunity to try out a pair of Heelys,  and I was so impressed with them that I decided I would like a chance to try out a pair for myself.  It has been quite some time since I last skated,  matter of fact over ten years ago.  I remember my little sister and I use to go to the skating rink every weekend and loved skating around on our skates and rollerblades but I am sure we would have loved skating around on our Heelys even more,  had they been around then.  Not to worry though because I am still able to own a pair in my late twenties.  

Heelys let me select a pair so I browsed their site for a while and found several pairs that caught my eye,  but I ended up narrowing it down to the Brooklyn II Lo.  I chose them partially because they are black and pink(two of my favorite colors, especially together), and partially because I was very pleased by the overall style of the shoe. When they arrived I was excited that they looked even better before my very own eyes.  The feature a black and white colored shoe with pink stitching,  pink and white argyle print design on the side of the shoe along with a pink heelys logo,  and pink shoelaces.
  

It was time to put them to the test,  so I simply removed the plugs very easily and popped the wheels in place.  Because it had been so long since I skated last,  to be honest I was most afraid of falling while trying to get use to them.  So,  of course I was sure to read the "how to" guides,  so I could get a better understanding of the safety and what I should and shouldn't do while wearing them.  I decided to give them a try outside my house on the hard pavement,  which wouldnt have been too nice if I had fell,  but I had my son show me the ropes since he has become a pro at skating in Heelys.  Bringing my son along for this little adventure turned out to be a bad idea because he kept teasing me,  but we both got a good laugh out of it! Let's just say the kids make it look super easy,  but it's not as easy as it looks!  It's definitely going to take me lots of practice before I can call myself even okay at using them,  but for now they are a lot of fun  to wear around,  even though I have taken the wheels off. 

Heelys look like a regular pair of shoes,  but they don't function like your ordinary shoes!  They make a great gift for any kid or holiday gift,  even for adults too!

BEARPAW Boots

With the cold rainy weather in full effect it's time to pull out your boots,  and in my situation - my BEARPAW boots!  You may remember last month  I introduced you BEARPAW boots,  but at the time I did not get a chance to try them out,  so this post is actually a follow-up post to the last one.  If you would like to read the post please click here. 

As soon as the cold weather comes out so does my boots!  And not just any boots,  my BEARPAW boots,  that is because recently BEARPAW was kind enough to provide me with a pair to review.  I must say they shipped extremely fast and arrived in perfect condition.  Upon first glance it is apparent that these boots are of the utmost  quality,  and I am sure you would agree.  From the inside(lining) to the outside(leather material),  these boots are sure to please both comfort wise and visual wise. 

Another great quality about these boots is that you can fold them down for a total different look,  either partially or half way down.  Oh, and the style of these boots are amazing. The BEARPAW Kenya Boots are black covered in a metallic silver cheetah print.  Along the back of the heel you will find a metal logo and hanging from the top is a metal tag.  The lining inside is black to match the outer color of the boots.  The Kenya boots stand ten inches tall and sit on a one inch heel.

The BEARPAW Kenya Boots are definitely my definition of comfort.  This is due to the fact they are lined in a blend of wool and Sheepeskin,  to make for the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever placed my foot in!  Walking in these boots are like what I think walking on clouds may feel like.  No matter how chilly it is outside my feet stay nice and warm,  while their hugged by my BEARPAW boots.   They are extremely versatile because you can wear them with basically anything.  Sometimes,  I even wear them as slippers with my pajama pants because they are so comfy.

Exotic High Heels

I have something to confess,  I am addicted,  addicted to shoes!  I think I have my entire closet jam packed full of racks and racks of shoes including everything from sneakers to flats,  and probably every other type of shoe there is on this planet,  but my weakness is for heels.  There is just something about a good pair of heels that scream feminine,  sexy,  and empowering.  I have always been short,  matter of fact I have been 5 foot two since I was seventeen,  so wearing heels definitely give me some height,  but that is not really why I wear them.  I wear heels because they make you stand out and really make your outfit seem more dressy , although it doesn't hurt to look a little bit taller at times.

I was thrilled when Exotic High Heels agreed to let me select a pair of shoes to review.  My favorite section of their site is the Bettie Page & Pin Up Couture Heels & Pumps section because I love their exquisite designs and prints.  Best of all,  they all display a retro inspired style,  which I absolutely love and adore.  As soon as I laid eyes on the SECRET 12-, 4 1/2' Heel, 1/2" Platform Pump In Black Satin-Red Patent Polka Dots Print heels,  it was love at first site,  no really...it was!  Not only are they classy and chic, but they are also sexy and sassy at the same time.

I usually wear a size 8 1/2,  but I was told they run a tad bit small,  so I opted for a size 9 and they fit perfectly with a tiny bit of room,  so my toes weren't uncomfortably jammed in the shoes.  Please keep in mind when ordering them to order half a size larger than you normally do as they do run a tad bit small.   I must say both the design and print is gorgeous,  and makes me feel gorgeous while wearing them!

The Secret 12 heels sit on a attention grabbing bright red platform,  and bright red 4 1/2" heel.  The shoe itself is black, decorated with white polka dots to make for a very vintage look.  Oh yeah and I can't forget the best part about them, the bows!  Each pair of Secret 12 Heels come with two removable bows on each shoe: one located located near wear your pinky toe rests in them and the other on the top of the back of the heel.  I love this option because you can tone the heels down by removing the bows or keep them on for a more detailed look.  Not only that,  but you can remove just the front bows,  or just the back,  for an even different design.  Now if that isn't unique,  I don't know what is!

The Secret 12 heels are sexy yet sophisticated looking perfect for any dancer,  model,  or special night out.  They match with basically any basic black dress,  and most women own a little black dress,  so there is no reason to have to purchase a dress to match.  I recently wore my pair of Secret 12 heels to a family event and received an overwhelming amount of compliments.  I noticed that since they are retro inspired they attract the taste of both the young and old,  from my 67 year old parents,  to my 17 year old niece!  Whether you have small feet(size 5) or large feet(size 11),  they offer a size to fit any Cinderellas foot!

I surprised my son with the pair of Zip-Ups and he immediately asked about the zipper.  As soon as I explained it to him he was in awe with his new pair of zippable shoes.  He wore them to school on his second day of school and received lots of compliments.  I even had a couple of parents ask me where they can purchase a pair.  He loves the popular skull design and has been getting a lot of use out of them.

In search of a wide selection of  trendy juniors apparel with low price tags to go along with them,  then you should check out LuLu's!  While on their site you will find a  large assortment of shoes, accessories,   jewelery and  swimwear.  Along with their wonderful assortment of products,  they also provide excellent customer service to make for a pleasurable shopping experience!  LuLu's brands consist of emerging new designers,  and they buy them in limited quantities,  so many of their items come from their designer's studios.  They currently do not own a store location,  but they do offer a superb online site that is updated weekly. 

I was very enthusiastic when given an opportunity to review an item on LuLu's!  I love their selection of hip clothing,  but what I was really in search of was a new pair of heels.  As I looked though page after page of highly fashionable shoes,  I noticed they carry an assortment of sizes and styles to fit the personality of any woman!  No matter,  if you are in search of the perfect pair of heels to wear to the club,  or a pair of elegant heels to wear with an elegant dress,  you will certainly find what you are looking for!  While searching for the perfect pair of heels,  I was provided with  detailed descriptions and plenty of images so I knew exactly what I was getting. 

It was a hard decision,  but I ended up selecting the Bamboo Colada 70 Leopard Fabric Black Patent Platform Pumps.  I have always been a big fan of leopard print items,  so of course I especially appreciate the leopard print accented on these stylish sexy pumps!  This pair of sassy heels really draws attention with it's shiny black vegan leather and head turning foxy cheetah print.  Each pair comes with a silver matalic padded insole to help add comfort with each step.  The sole is rubberized with a heart motif. 

This is how the Heels arrived- wrapped in a white tissue paper covered with pink LuLu's logos and topped off with a pink and white LuLu's sticker. 

Once I unwrapped the tissue paper I saw this beautifully uplifting designed box!

Once I lifted the lid off I thought I would see the shoes but instead I saw this white tissue paper covered in the Bamboo logo.  I couldnt wait to see what the shoes looked like!

Once I unwrapped the tissue paper I found these gorgeous shoes staring at me!  They were exactly what I expected and more! 

The Bamboo Colada 70 Leopard Fabric Patent Platform Pumps are 5.25 inches high,  which gives me some nice added height.  This pair of heels features a round toe pump and a spotted leopard print platform. The size is definentely a true to size fit because my size 8 fit me just perfectly!  I couldnt wait to wear them, ,  but first I needed to find something that would match them.  Because I didn't have anything laying around my closet that would match I decided to purchase a top or dress,  to go with them. 

While shopping at a local store I found black dress a to match perfectly,  but you know what matches even better?  LuLu's Sexy Leopard Print Dress,  as pictured at the top of this post.  The Leopard print pumps are available in both whole and half sizes.  LuLu's even offers a section dedicated to nothing but Leopard and Lace prints.  Be sure to check out their other fun animal prints too,  including Zebra and Snake.

I am going on 28 years old,  and I would still LOVE to own a pair!   As soon as they came in I surprised my little man with them! 

He was so excited to actually have skates on his shoes. I knew they would take some getting use to because he has never really skated before. It has took a while for him to get use to them,  but now he skates around in them like a pro!  They look so good on him,  and they match with basically anything,  since they are black and white.  The style is pretty awesome too because he can wear them no matter,  if he is wearing a tee shirt and jeans,  or a plaid shirt and khakis. 

As soon as school is back in session we will definitely be removing the wheels,  so he doesn't try to skate away..hahaha!  I love the fact that he can wear them with or without the wheels since they are totally removable.  Heelys now offers the all new HX2 which comes with two wheels instead of one making it easier for younger children to use.   Overall,  he is extremely happy with his pair of Heelys shoes,  I mean what could be funner for a child then a pair of shoes with a built in toy!   Although I do not have a daughter I love their selection of fashionable styles for girls and women too!  Below you will find the same style that I received for my son,  but in girls style instead.

Go Jane

Even though I am going on 28 years old I still enjoy wearing stylish Juniors clothing and shoes.  My body definitely isn't the same as before I had all of these kids,  but I still fit nicely into juniors clothing!  I recently found a awesome site called Go Jane.  They offer trendy Juniors clothing and shoes at extremely affordable prices.   Go Jane presents a superb selection of fashionable juniors clothing including:  Tanks,  Denim,  Formals,  Dresses,  Shoes,  and more! 

While on their site you may choose to browse by category or favorite,  whichever you prefer.  I waisted no time and headed directly to their Shoes section.  Let's just say shoes are my best friend,  and I have Lot's of them!  As soon as I entered their shoes section, I entered heaven because they had such a variety of very appealing heels in so many different styles and colors!  I had such a hard time choosing which pair to review because they were all so cute!

I chose to review the taupe color,  in a size 8 and a half.  I usually wear a  size 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 depending upon the style of the shoe.  I  like to order eight and a half for heels,  only  because some heels can be really tight,  and I like to have a little room for my toes.  The heels fit me perfectly and definitely made me feel tall.  I am only 5'2,  so these heels boost me to about 5'7.  These five inch velvet platform pumps are designed with a textured snake print trim.  I couldn't believe it but both the colors matched perfectly with my dress!  They made me feel so stylish and feminine while wearing them!
