Strawberry Shortcake DVD's

One of the worlds most loved characters is soon coming out on DVD's.  As a child of the 80's Strawberry Shortcake was one of my most favorite characters ever so when I recently heard about the new DVD's I was very excited.  Strawberry Shortcake brings back very fond memories of childhood,  I mean how could anyone resist the sweet smelling freckle faced red headed beauty!  And did I mention the rest of her pals who also are "dessert" themed with matching dessert which matched their names to their clothes and even their pets!  Oh and not to mention each character came compete with dessert scented hair.

Just in time for Spring Twentieth Century Home Fox released Strawberry Shortcake BLOOMIN' BERRY GARDEN' and Strawberry Shortcake BERRY BRICK ROAD on DVD on March 6th.  It's so sweet you will certainly be back for more!

Remember the beloved movie Wizard Of Oz?  Well,  Strawberry Shortcake's BERRY BRICK ROAD DVD retells the story of wizard of oz along with the rest of pals as they reainact this classic.  After a bad cyclone blows Strawberry Shortcake to the land of oz she is confronted by a wicked witch,  and then must travel to Emerald City to meet the wizard who she hopes will help her find her way home.  It puts a cute twist on the regular movie which makes it very enjoyable for children.

Strawberry Shortcake's BLOOMIN' BERRY GARDEN'  puts you into the spring spirit with lots of fun garden growing.  As Strawberry Shortcake and her pals prepare for the Spring Flower Festival the magical sparkles shrink them and make the Berrykins grow tall the girls realize that even when their tiny they can make a huge difference!

Growing Up With Hello Kitty DVD 2

Who could resist the well loved feline that sports a bright red bow on her left ear!  Hello Kitty is a well known character in just about every household..  Fans of Hello Kitty range from the young to the old because after all who wouldn't like Hello Kitty!  From my friends to my nieces Hello Kitty seems to be quite popular.  I recently received two Hello Kitty DVD's so this is the second one of the two that I was sent to review.  If you would like to read the first one please click here.

Once again,  Hello Kitty returns with six episodes full of lots of important lessons for young children.  This DVD teaches the importance of sharing, apologizing, playing together, eating nicely, going to the bathroom, and replying properly.  My favorite episode was Going to the Bathroom because it taught my child rules about when to go to the bathroom.

I am sure you are all aware of Squinkies,  the most adorable small squishy toys that children everywhere are collecting.  Well I am happy to announce that Blip Toys is releasing a new line of Squinkies called Squinkie Zinkies that are the same as Squinkies only smaller. In fact,  they are almost half the size of regular Squinkies!   With a name like Squinkies Zinkies who could resist them and after you see them you certainly won't!  Blip Toys recently asked me to review a few of their new Squinkies Zinkies sets and I couldn't have been more excited.

My children had so much fun taking each Squinkies Zinkies out and inspecting them one by one.  They used the squeezer to place each of the Zinkies on display.  My younger children had fun trying to guess what each animal was and it really helped them to identify different animals. Overall it was a lot of fun and kept them entertained for quite a while,  which isnt easy around our household!

Growing Up With Hello Kitty DVD

As a young girl growing up I always loved Hello Kitty.  I remember my older sister taking me to San Rio in the mall to buy me Hello Kitty items and I use to get so excited.  It must be something special about Hello Kitty because I still find myself interested in Hello Kitty items.  Just the other day I saw a pair of Hello Kitty heels that I almost purchased.  It's not just me either a friend of mine recently bought a Hello Kitty Purse and all of my nieces and friends daughters go crazy over Hello Kitty.  


I recently received a Hello Kitty DVD to review and I couldn't have been more excited!

Watch Hello Kitty and her twin sister Mimmy as they learn important life lessons from their loving parents and friends.  This DVD teaches important lessons such as the importance of eating your vegetables(something I think every child should learn), Cleaning up after yourself, Sleeping by yourself, helping, Talking on the phone, and changing your clothes.  For my three year old son these are all very important things for him to learn and it's neat he can learn it in such a fun way he can understand.

2011 Holiday GIft Guide Day 16 - MiM Toy

The MiM doll is probably just about every little girls dream doll.    It's not just a doll,  it's much more special than that!  Wonder what makes the MiM doll so special,  basically everything about it!  I would have done chores for years when I was younger just to get a doll like this one...no really,  I would have!  Now I don't have a girl,  but times like this really makes me wish I did!  Luckily,  I have plenty of little neices that I knew would LOVE to own this doll!  So I chose the neice that I thought would take care of her the best since this truly is such a special doll!



The coolest thing about the doll is all the possible outcomes of what it can be.  You can totally transform the doll into a total another doll,  no joke!  And when I say total different,  I mean total different!  You can even make her look like you.

• And even body type!

For the review,  MiM (Make It Mine) generously provided me with a lovely assortment of their products to review,  so I could get a good feel of both the doll and the unique concept of the doll.  We received Basic Doll B Peach to review,  although they also offer a selection of three other dolls all of which are of different completion. We also received a Mim Rocks! Accessory Pack that included colorful guitar backpack filled with concert tickets and a silver play MP3 player.  Additionally,  we received an adorable Pink and Black Wig and a set of beautiful Green Eyes.  And of course her makeover wouldn't be complete without a new outfit,  so we were sent the Mim Rocks! outfit.

As soon as I received it I immediately opened it up because of course I had anxiously been awaiting it's arrival! I must say It looked even better than I had expected it too and it was very nice meeting it up close and personal!  To add to it's uniqueness,  it does not come packaged in a box it actually comes packaged in it's very own little sleeping bag!  Inside the white and pink zebra striped sleeping bag the doll rests on a beautiful pillow.  There was also a little suprise inside the sleeping bag that I am not going to reveal.

My neice is seven years old and she really knows how to take care of her toys,  so I feel safe choosing her and the lucky recipient of this dream doll!  The doll came dressed in lavendar leggings and a pink shirt with lavendar accents,  along with a matching pair of sandles.  Her arms and legs are jointed,  which allows the doll to be posed in different postitions. 

Before I give it to her I wanted to play with it a little bit so I decided to change it's appearance.  I removed the wig,  clothes,  and sandles then began to dress her in her outfit.   For the most part , the clothes were very easy to change mostly because the shirts are made with velcrow closures in the back,  so they can easily be changed.   At first I thought It may be a hastle putting her boots on until I noticed the zippers on the back,  so it only took a few seconds to put each boot on. The only issue I had was with the original wig because it was somewhat hard to place back on,  but I ended up figuring it out.  I put on her cute little backpack and even placed the concert tickets and MP3 player inside,  then it was time for a photo shoot!  Check out her photo shoot below.

2011 Holiday Gift Guide Day 4 - Flicka Ricka Dicka And Their New Skates Hardback Book

Just in time to celebrate Christmas,  Flicka,  Ricka,  Dicka Hardback book is available for purchase.  If you are a child or parent of the 40's or 50's then more than likely remember this book of timeless tales of the innocence of childhood.  I had never heard about Flicka Ricka Dicka until I was presented with an opportunity to review this classic book,  probably because I am a child of the eighties.  I figured my mom would be familiar with this book because she grew up in the fifities and sure enough it was one of her favorites!


About The Author:
Maj Lindman grew up in Swedenfrom 1886 until her death in 1972.  Although she wrote many and illistrated many childrens books,  she is best known for her tales of the triplet girls - Flicka,  Ricka, and Dicka and their boy counterparts,  Snipp,  Snapp, and Snurr. 


About This Book:
This tale takes place in Sweden where early one Christmas morning three girls(Flicka,  Ricka,  and Dicka) wake up excited to soon open their gifts.  After receiving their Christmas gifts( three sets of skates-one for each girl),  they decided to put them to use.  While enjoying thier Chritmas gift they meet a little boy named Bertie.  When Bertie soon finds himself in danger will the girls be able to save him?  You will have to read it for yourself to find out!




Our Thoughts:
The book titled "Flicka,  Ricka,  Dicka And Their New Skates" is a beautifully illistrated book written by Maj Lindman.  I was sent the updated version of this book which includes a lovely set of paper dolls.  Paper dolls were quite popular back in the days according to my mother who said that they were the number one toy she played with when she was just a young girl.  This festive book features a bright red,  and green hard cover with glittery letters and picture.  This book is recommended for children ages 5-8.  This book would make a fabulous gift for any little girl or adult woman that grew up in the 40's or 50's.

~School Pet - When the school pet goes missing Dora and Boots save the pet which is a hamster by the name of Mimo.
~Quack Quack - This imaginative episode takes Dora and Boots into a coloring book.  It all begins when Dora and Boots are coloring a picture of Mami Duck and and her eggs when the coloring book comes to life.  Dora and Boots must bring the newly hatched baby duck back home to Mami.

Me Bands

wristbands with sayings on them seem to be all the range with young girls these days and Me Bands are no different!  These trendy bands come in different colors printed with various sayings including:

• Spoiled
• Dolla Dolla Bills
• Obsessed
• And many other fun saying from series one and two.

These fun bands make a perfect item to collect and even come with a unique collectors code embossed inside each band.  Not only are they a great item to collect,  but they also make a great favor,  stocking stuffer,  and fun item to trade!  They are made for girls ages eight and up which worked out well because I have a neice aged ten years old,  so I knew she would enjoy it.  Girls aged eight and over will appreciate the bands sassy sayings and  bright colors.  They make a great accessory to any outfit,  so they can be worn with basically anything. 



We recieved two Me Bands including "Yogi" and "Stuck Up".  We also received three sets of OPPO rings to review.  The OPPO Rings come in a pack of three rings much like the wrist bands,  but only smaller to fit your finger.  The rings include fun sayings and the middle rings feature faces and shapes.  The rings are just as fun as the bands and can be accesorized to match with the Me Bands.

I love lipglosses,  but some how it seems like I am constantly loosing them.  I finally found a solution to the product,  and it's called YOYO Lipgloss!  They are unique in the fact that they are actually a retractable lip care item.  They come with a clip,  so you can clip them to basically anything,  and they definently won't get lost.  Young girls will appreciate the interchangeable colored clips.  The clips also are color coordianted with the mini lip glosses.

As I applied the lip gloss it glided evenly over my lips leaving them with a beautiful glimmer sparkle.  They come in a convenient size that perfectly fit into your purse,  pocket,  or makeup bag.  I like to keep one in my purse,  so I can use it anytime I need to add a hint of shiny glitter to my lips. When you pull on the cord it extends 2 1/2 feet long, so once you apply your lip gloss it perfectly retracts to wherever it was to begin with!  YOYO Lip Gloss is appropriate for ages 8 and older,  so you and your daughter can use them!  Or... in my case,  me and my nieces!
